It’s an honor and a privilege to announce Robert J. Manasse as our new Board Chair,” Mainstay Supportive Housing & Home Care President and CEO Larry Oaks announced today. “We are beyond thrilled to have him as part of the Mainstay team.”

Robert J. Manasse is the Managing Partner of Bacint Associates, a Boston-based advisory firm. “We strongly believe that housing is the key to reducing intergenerational poverty and increasing economic mobility,” Manasse said. “Research shows that increasing access to affordable housing is the most cost-effective strategy for reducing childhood poverty and increasing economic mobility.

“It is said that ‘a house is not just a house, it is a home – a place that shelters, protects, and nurtures,’” he added. “Our plan is to continue to expand our offerings for safe spaces for people to thrive and support their personal and professional development in their respective communities across the State. We look forward to continuing our mission with passion, dedication, and the leadership of our professional capable staff.”

Mainstay provides human service and housing programs across Massachusetts, including permanent supportive housing and compassionate, person-centered home care. Our programs have helped hundreds of people live productive and stable lives in their own communities every day for all of these years. Mainstay was founded in 1975 to provide services to people with mental illness, and our mandate has since expanded to cover a variety of vulnerable populations, including low-income elders; people with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities; and the recently homeless.
