Staff Accountant

Position Description:

Mainstay Supportive Housing & Home Care, Inc. is seeking a STAFF ACCOUNTANT at our corporate office in Newton, MA. The STAFF ACCOUNTANT reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for preparing monthly financial reports, developing and maintaining department budgets and generating cost reports. The successful candidate will also collect pertinent information for third party audits, and oversees the financial reporting, for full cycle accounts payable and invoice generation for all customers. Other duties includes providing reporting, budget, and audit support.

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Full cycle Accounts Payable to include invoice dispute resolution.
  • Allocates Accounts Payable on a monthly basis
  • Applies receipts and monitors receivables for various revenue streams. Generates monthly and bi-monthly billing to customers.
  • Bi-annually (or as necessary) submits Replacement Reserves Funds Authorizations to HUD for reimbursement
  • Reconciles Security Deposit sub-ledgers to monthly trial balance.
  • Creates and completes data entry for journal entries.
  • Coordinates monthly closing of general ledger for financial reporting.
  • Assists and supports annual budget process. Completes data entry of budgets.
  • Completes data entry of YTD activity for proposed budgets.
  • Annually renews related HUD subsidy contracts.
  • Audits quarterly analysis of trial balances as assigned.
  • Accrues Accounts Payable as necessary for fiscal year-end.
  • Creates and enters FYE entries as necessary
  • Enters AJEs from Auditor.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related filed required

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

2 + years’ experience in accounting or related filed. Experience in a Home Care environment a plus.

  • Solid understanding of General Ledger, or similar product, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Able to demonstrate strong attention to detail, customer service skills and a self-starter.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports.
  • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to Maintain confidentiality, multi-task and establish priorities

Registered Nurse (RN) - Spencer

Position Description:

Mainstay Supportive Housing & Home Care, Inc. (Mainstay) is currently seeking an experienced and committed PER DIEM REGISTERED NURSE (RN) to work with a Senior Citizen/aging population in Spencer, MA. The Registered Nurse is responsible for services provided to individuals who need assistance to remain in their own homes and communities. The Registered Nurse will work closely with the program supervisor/director and the support staff providers to offer a high quality service.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that Mainstay policies, procedures and industry standards/regulations are followed.
  • Represents Mainstay in a professional manner, at all times.
  • Implements strategic plans, goals and objectives, as assigned.
  • Ensures that the principles and processes for providing client and personal care services include determination of need for services, meeting quality standards and evaluation of client satisfaction.
  • Evaluates potential participants.
  • Initiates contact with the client’s primary care physician to obtain medical information and physician clearance.
  • Completes the medical components of the client’s assessment form and monitors the client’s health status.
  • Conducts and documents in-home assessments in accordance with regulatory agency requirements.
  • Evaluates client’s home setting to ensure safety
  • Completes semi-annual participant health status reports and patient care plans.
  • Provides case management through in-person home visits every 60 days.
  • Reviews and supervises the personal care services plan every 60 days.
  • Communicates with clients, advocates, families and designated caretakers, including those from other service agencies.
  • Ensures completion of required documentation for participation of the program.
  • Reassesses client for appropriateness of program every 6 months.
  • Attends periodic meetings, as needed.
  • Collaborates with external agencies, vendors and individuals to recruit potential clients to support growth of the organization to serve more clients in need.

Position Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 1 – 2 years of experience in home care or home based services, preferred.
  • Prior experience with the Masshealth Group Adult Foster Care (GAFC) program preferred.
  • Training will be provided on the GAFC program, as needed.

Certifications/Licenses: RN License in MA and Valid Driver’s License

Compensation and Benefits:

  • This is a Per Diem position. Pay Rate is $100/client/bi-monthly visit.
  • This is a 20 person caseload.
  • Flexible Schedule. Make your own client visit calendar directly with the clients.
  • This is not a hands-on, skilled nursing position.
  • The bi-monthly visit is comprised of approximately 3 hours of service:
    • a brief in-person visit every 60 days to the client in their home.
    • all related paperwork and documentation.
    • general collateral contact and oversight.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Positive and patient demeanor and ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong skills in Electronic Based Documentation.

Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) Spencer

Position Description:

Mainstay Supportive Housing & Home Care, Inc. is currently seeking committed CERTIFIED HOME HEALTH AIDES to work per-diem in Spencer, MA. The Home Health Aid will provide services to individuals in their own homes and communities, who need assistance caring for themselves as a result of old age, sickness, disability and/or other inflictions. Home Health Aides are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Mainstay’s services policies and industry standards.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily living activities and personal care that includes but not limited to: Bathing, Shaving, Mouth care, Hair, and Skin care, Dressing, Exercising, Positioning, Feeding, Toileting, Medication reminders, Ambulation and transfers.
  • Monitor and report changes in clients health status
  • Provides companionship services and follow-up on care plan
  • Complete and maintain records of daily activities
  • Assist with meal preparations which may include a specialized diet plan as identified on the clients care plan
  • Performs light housecleaning tasks
  • Assist with essential shopping/errands

Position Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalency

Relevant Work Experience: 1 – 2 years’ experience as a Home Health Aide required.

Certifications/Licenses: Must be a current Certified Home Health Aid with valid driver’s license

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Positive and patient demeanor, Ability to build rapport with clients, ability to handle physical workload, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Spencer

Position Description:

Mainstay Supportive Housing & Home Care, Inc. is currently seeking dedicated PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANTS (PCA) to work per-diem in Spencer, MA.

The Personal Care Assistants provides services to individuals in their own homes and communities. Personal Care may include assistance with the activities of daily living, accompanying individuals to appointments, recreational/leisure activities, transportation, companionship and respite. Personal Care Assistants are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a kind, caring and respectful manner, and in accordance with relevant Mainstay’s policies and industry standards.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Get to know the individual and his/her personal style, preferred levels and types of assistance.
  • Allow the individual and family members take the lead in the assistance plan design.
  • Offer opportunities for rehabilitation and growth directed by the individual.
  • Connect with the individual’s family members and integrate into their home environment based on their needs and requirements.
  • Participate in trainings.
  • Assist with daily living activities and personal care that may include, but is not limited to: Bathing, Shaving, Mouth care, Hair, Dressing, Exercising, Positioning, Ambulation and Transfers, Medication reminder.
  • Monitor and report changes in client’s health status to the family members.
  • Report any safety concerns.
  • Provide companionship services as directed by the individual.
  • Complete and maintain records of daily activities.
  • Assist with meal preparations which may include a specialized diet plan as identified on the clients care plan.
  • Performs light housecleaning tasks.
  • Assist with essential shopping/errands

Position Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalency

Relevant Work Experience: 1 – 2 years’ experience as a Personal Care Assistant preferred. .

Certifications/Licenses: valid driver’s license
