With twenty two years of non-profit and for profit leadership experience, Larry became the second President and CEO of MHPI in January, 2018. Most recently he was a Managing Director at the Corporation for Supportive Housing, a national non-profit that advances housing based solutions to help vulnerable people lead productive lives. Prior to CSH he served as Vice President of Housing at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in New York City, a community development financial institution with thirty one offices nationwide. Earlier in his professional life he was as a Senior Project Manager at Peabody Properties, Inc., an award winning developer of multi-family and supportive housing headquartered in Braintree, MA. For the first twelve years of his career he held a number of positions at the New York City based non-profit organization Housing and Services, Inc., including four years as Executive Director.
As an administrator of affordable housing for more than thirty years, Susan Horner brings experience and a wealth of knowledge to Mainstay Supportive Housing and Home Care.
Throughout her career, Susan has served on and provided leadership to committees and organizations that focus on the needs of the underserved. Susan holds several professional designations, including SHCM, COS and PHM, and is a trained Mediator.
Susan and her staff of property managers, maintenance crew members and Resident Service Coordinators dedicate themselves to providing a safe haven for all they serve.
Doreen is a graduate of Wheaton College and earned her B.A. in Psychology. She is enrolled at the Brandeis University Heller Graduate School.
For the past 25 years, Doreen has dedicated her professional career to enhancing the lives of children, teens, adults and Senior Citizens with disabilities and their families, by creating day, housing and family support programming and resources to meet the needs of this population. She was a member of the leadership teams at both the Charles River Center (from 1994-2004), and at JF&CS (from 2005-2017).
A particularly important project in Doreen’s career was being on the creative team which opened the supportive housing programs, serving 70 adults in unique shared group living settings. This program allows adults to live in more integrated homes in the community, and to move our of their family home.
Doreen was appointed by Governor Baker to be a member of the Governor’s Commission on Intellectual Disabilities in the Commonwealth. The Commission is an independent citizen oversight body appointed by the Governor to public policy in the area of intellectual disability in the state.
Doreen has two amazing children, Nina and Nate. She has a particular interest in raising awareness about Cystic Fibrosis and fighting for the cure, as Nina has this genetic disorder.
Doreen enjoys playing softball, singing, being a fan of all Boston sport’s teams, mystery shopping and coaching girl’s softball.
Avanelle Martin joined the Mainstay Supportive Housing & Home Care, Inc. team in September, 2018 as Director of Human Resources and brings eighteen (18) plus years of generalist/managerial experience in the Health and Wellness industry. My areas of expertise includes employee recruiting and retention, staff development, mediation, conflict resolution, benefits and compensation, HR records management, HR policy development and legal compliance. Able to negotiate win-win compromises, develop team building programs, policy and job description. I bring a record accomplishment in effective communication and implementation of high standards of integrity and professionalism.
Through effective communication and transparency, my goal is to find a common ground for positive outcomes in any situation. I believe the success of an organization is determined by its culture which is defined by its mission, vision and values. As Human Resources professional, and a lifelong learner, I am committed to the growth and success of Mainstay Supportive Housing & Home Care Inc, Inc.
Ron Quimby joined Mainstay Supportive Housing & Home Care in November of 2015. He was hired as an Occupancy Specialist and immediately began learning everything he knows about housing from his supervisor and mentor, Susan Horner. He, and the rest of the Property Management team, work diligently to provide exemplary housing services to the many residents that Mainstay Supportive Housing & Home Care serves.
When Ron isn’t the Director of Housing Services, he is Dad to his daughter, Miranda and son, Joshua. He is husband to his beautiful and amazing wife, Krissy. And, he is Pop-Pop to the apple of his eye, his granddaughter, Adalyn.
During the summer months, Ron enjoys spending his time off with his family and friends at his home away from home, a seasonal campground in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
