Mainstay Supportive Housing & Home Care, Inc. announces the election of Clifford Robinson as its new Board Chair as of September 19, 2019.

Mainstay, a non-profit charitable organization founded in 1975, is a pioneer in the world of service-enriched affordable housing. Mainstay owns and manages fifteen housing facilities, including two that provide independent living opportunities for seniors. The organization also provides supportive services to people of low income, including those with substantial emotional, cognitive, and/or physical challenges.

Clifford Robinson joined the Mainstay Board in 2017 after a nearly thirty-year career with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. Robinson received his bachelor’s degree from Williams College, a Master of Education from Harvard University, and Master of Social Work degree from Simmons College. He then began his career in social work as a clinician at several area hospitals before moving to the Department of Mental Health in 1988. “I look forward to working with the Mainstay Board, staff, partners and clients to expand and strengthen the goals and values of this essential program,” states the new Board Chair.

Clifford Robinson will be replacing Jeanne McHallam, who has served on the Mainstay Board since 2008 and was elected Board Chair in 2012. McHallam will continue to serve on the Mainstay Board as a voting member. “After seven years as Board Chair, I’m thrilled to transition my role over to Cliff, who brings a lifetime of wisdom and experience to the position. I’m looking forward to remaining involved as a member of Mainstay’s board as we continue to modernize and grow this wonderful organization.”
